The main goals of the NÖ VSV are:
To motivate disabled people (amputations after accidents, congenital defects, paralysis, blinds,…) to gain a new quality of life with sportive activities. The NÖ VSV is a sports-association, not a therapy institution! There’s no difference between the NÖ VSV and other (non-disabled) sports associations.
With our financial opportunities, we try to support every athlete to be able to compete in his disciplines, whether it is in a professional way, or a as a hobby.
Every sport needs some kind of popularity. Without that, there wouldn’t be any top-sports events. Just like every other sport, we also need role models to motivate the youth to watch or participate. For us, it is unequally more difficult, than for non-disabled sports, because of less financial opportunities or missing media-broadcast of disabled-sports events like the Paralympics.
One of our most important fields is to support the youth. It depends on enormous financial means to support handicapped children and juveniles with their sportive activities. We try to help financing expensive medical surgery and sports gear for them.
Structure of the NÖ VSV:
The NÖ VSV is a member of the head organisation ÖBSV. The NÖ VSV itself is a head organisation of 8 associations. Every association offers several sportive activities to their members in their local areas.
